Can I Hire a Replacement Car?
If you were injvolved in a car accident that was not your fault then you are, naturally, entitled to recover the cost of repair, or its value if the car has been written off. Your insurance company will normally deal with this on your behalf.
However, what should you do while the insurers argue about whether it should be repaired, by whom, when and then wait for the repairs to actually be done?
You are entitled to go out and hire another car, similar to the car that you drove previously (same engine size and specification) and providing that you can establish that this was a reasonable course of action to take, then the cost of hiring the car can form part of your claim for damages.
